We provide individual, 30 and 60 minute speech therapy sessions for children ages 2–18 in the comfort of the child’s home, daycare or preschool, or within the community, such as a library or park. Services are available throughout Daniel Island, Mount Pleasant, Wando, Huger, and Downtown Charleston.
To avoid any conflict of interest, we do not provide services to children who attend Philip Simmons Elementary or Philip Simmons Middle School.
Children with speech sound disorders, including articulation and phonological delays, have difficulty producing certain sounds correctly or use patterns of sound errors. These challenges can affect how well a child is understood by others, especially as speech becomes more complex. Therapy focuses on improving speech sound accuracy and intelligibility.
An expressive language disorder affects a child’s ability to use words, sentences, and grammar to communicate effectively. Children may have limited vocabulary, short sentences, or difficulty expressing ideas clearly. This includes “late talkers”, meaning a child has fewer words than expected for their age.
Children with receptive language difficulties may struggle to understand spoken language, follow directions, answer questions, or comprehend stories. Therapy helps strengthen processing and language comprehension skills.
Social communication difficulties affect how a child uses language in social situations. This may include challenges with turn-taking, initiating and maintaining conversation, understanding social cues, or adjusting language for different settings.
Some children struggle with language skills that support reading and writing, including phonological awareness, vocabulary development, comprehension, and narrative skills. Therapy targets the underlying language skills needed for academic success.
Stuttering involves disruptions in the flow of speech, such as repetitions, prolongations, or blocks. Therapy focuses on using fluency enhancing strategies while supporting confidence.
Childhood Apraxia of Speech is a motor speech disorder that makes it difficult for children to plan and coordinate the movements needed for speech production. Therapy focuses on improving speech accuracy, consistency, and motor planning skills.

Our Summer Speech program offers short-term, individualized speech therapy sessions designed to help children stay on track while school is out. It’s an ideal option for children who typically receive speech services through their school, allowing us to continue working on existing IEP goals without the need for a new evaluation. By providing consistent support throughout the summer months, we help prevent regression and keep children making meaningful progress.
